Title: Maid for Love
Author: Marie Force
Series: The McCarthys of Gansett Island #1
Publisher: Self-published
Publication Date: April 29, 2011

Synopsis:
Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s “favorite son,” Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long.

When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son. He soon realizes his plans for a hit-and-run visit to the island are in serious jeopardy, and he just may be “maid” for love.

Review:
I got this one while it was free on Kindle not really knowing what it was about. Man, I’m so glad I did. This book totally stole my heart. It’s not like it was anything too special or world-changing, but it was the perfect cheesy and cute romance that warmed my heart.

Maddie’s entire life had been affected by her large breasts and the rumors that followed her around since high school. It’s no wonder that she didn’t care for it at all when the island’s golden boy returns from Miami and knocks her off her bike. To her surprise, Mac McCarthy insisted on helping her with her job and her baby while she recovers.

Maddie annoyed me at first, because she was so ungrateful, especially since at first it wasn’t made clear why she didn’t like the McCarthys. I just thought she didn’t like them because she was poor and they were rich, so I held a grudge against her. Mac was nothing but caring after he injured her. He even went out to go to her job while she recovered and babysat for her. How can anyone be so nice, right? Maddie, instead of saying thank you, was ungrateful and petty and tried to kick Mac out every chance she got.

However, as the story progressed, it slowly revealed why Maddie held a grudge. I really felt bad for her. Her situation was not her fault, only because people can be judgmental gossips no matter the truth. It’s a good thing Mac was there for her.

The love story is one of the sweetest I’ve read, minus my problem with Maddie. Mac just had that something that drew me to him and made my heart flutter every time he did something sweet for Maddie and her son. Mac is the perfect guy – rich, handsome, and a sweetheart who takes care of his woman.

I also loved the idea of the island. Each of the secondary characters has their own story to be told. I’m a sucker for a warm family like this, but Mac’s family in this one was kind of disappointing in the way they treated Maddie, but that is solved by the end, so the other books promise to be more heartwarming.

If you love contemporary romance with a perfect happy ending, where the hero comes to save the day and give the heroine everything she’s ever wanted and needed, then you should definitely give this one a try!

Oh I just saw this one on Amazon for free thanks to Cimmaron ^-^ I hadn't even looked at the synopsis nor read any reviews, i just liked the cover its sexy xD lol. But I love your review, Ning!. And though I know I'll probably want to kick Maddie while she's down for being so rude, I'm definitely gonna give this one a try. I need a cute romance right now xD Lol

lol I didn't really read the synopsis either when I got it. Actually I even assumed it was erotica because of the name and the cover, but it was just a really cute contemporary romance. I hope you enjoy it!!
